Before & After with Kingston Brass

I have been meaning to share my kitchen before & afters for some time now. I cannot believe how fast time flies & it has been exactly ONE year since we bought our home! We hired an amazing contractor & also did a lot of the work ourselves, so this was definitely a labor of love. It took roughly 6 weeks to finish our updates in our home, which in my opinion, is really fast! Here are a few photos of how our kitchen looked when we first bought our home.

We had been looking for a home to buy for almost a month & the market here is crazy. If you wanted a house, you literally had to put in an offer ASAP. We lost a few houses because theirs were cash offers & way above asking price, so we were constantly praying & searching for the right home. It’s funny because from everything I wanted in a house, this fit most of all the boxes (besides having been updated). We wanted to live close to Matt’s work & Oliver’s school & this home was right in the middle. I also wanted a fireplace & this house had a wood burning fireplace! From the moment I stepped inside, I knew this felt like our home. We put an offer in the day we saw it & they accepted a few days later! After we finally got the keys, we started working immediately. Here are some of the photos of our progress. I have so many, but maybe another post ;)

The main renovation in the entire home was the kitchen & our hallway bathroom. The kitchen has been hands down, my favorite. I had an idea of what I wanted it to look like & we went from there. We bought most of our appliances on sale, which saved a ton & did the backsplash ourselves (we did tongue & groove a.k.a vertical shiplap). My favorite piece in the entire kitchen has to be our apron sink & gold faucet from Kingston Brass.

I have always wanted a farmhouse/apron sink & we searched for so long until I found Kingston Brass. They were so kind & offered me a discount for the sink! It is a solid surface resin sink in matte white. I wanted a single bowl type sink with no dividers because I have bigger pots 7 pans I hand wash & having a wider sink makes ALL the difference! It has a grid that is perfect for not setting all the dishes on the actual sink (you can still do that, but I love the grid) & it is really the focal point of our entire kitchen. The brushed brass faucet is so dreamy! I have never seen one like it in person & it is just gorgeous. I received the Manhattan Brushed Brass faucet & sprayer from Kingston Brass. My theme in my home was white/wood & accents of browns/golds throughout. This faucet is so beautiful in person & works so well! Click HERE to check out our faucet we chose.

And here are the AFTER photos! We love our kitchen & even though it is on the smaller size, it holds everything we need!

I love looking at BEFORE & AFTER’s from other peoples homes, so I really hope you enjoyed ours. It took a lot of hard work & tears to make this kitchen work for us! Here are a few links if you want to check out our favorite kitchen & bath store.
