Our Valentine's Day

Last night, I stayed up till around midnight trying to cut out felt hearts & make Ollie's Valentine's Day a little special ( I am a total procrastinator).  I used some of these heart felts & made a trail going from his room to our room, where we placed his valentine's gift!  We bought him the sweetest book, The Wonderful Things You Will Be.

Ollie slept in until about 8:30am!  When he came downstairs he was so excited!  We had heart balloons on the floor in our room & then he opened his gift & we read it in bed.  Then we headed to Starbucks to get some coffee (my mom was the sweetest & got us a gift card for today) & then came back home to make heart pancakes!  I just posted a recipe to these yummy & vegan pancakes over on The Best of Mom blog (so be sure & check it out!).

After breakfast, it started snowing (a little warm to stick, but was still so fun!).  We decided to stay home & be cozy.  Ollie & I made these great Vegan Strawberry Mini Cheesecakes & you can find the recipe here & then Matt & Ollie played upstairs while I knitted on the couch.  I also want to mention this hoodie Ollie is wearing from Mini Mioche.  Ollie has been loving their clothes & they are so soft!  This hoody is 100% organic cotton fleece & well made (color is Putty).  We have a few of their items & love them!

He is just our absolute FAVORITE!

I used these Wilton silicone heart shaped molds & they were so easy to pop out!

Lastly, I do not want to forget the tragic news of the Florida shooting that happened this day.  It is completely heartbreaking & though, we live in a world where there is so much sin, I absolutely hate it.  My heart breaks for the families that have lost their love ones, my heart also breaks for the gunman that he felt the need to do this horrible massacre & finally for his parents.  What a tragic thing to live with, knowing your child could do this.  Praying fervently for everyone.
