a trip to colonial williamsburg
This past Saturday we thought we would take a spur of the moment drive to Colonial Williamsburg. I have been wanting to visit again, especially because I knew it would be decked out in holiday decor! Our first stop was coffee, of course, & it was the best Starbucks that I have ever been to. It was pretty spacious, but felt cozy with their leather wingback chairs & a Christmas tree. They even had a craft table for the kids... Pure genius! Since I was still sort of sick, I just got a hot cocoa, Matt got a peppermint mocha & they gave Oliver a little cup filled with whip cream. I want to say thank you to our dear friend, Tawnya, who gave us a Starbucks gift card... we drank well ;)
After about an hour, we headed over to Colonial Williamsburg & walked around. It was nice to go at our own pace, without rushing or thinking of things we had to do. The little town was beautiful with all their wreaths hung on every door & fresh garland was everywhere. It was really cold, which I love, but I wore flats & by the end of the day, I couldn't really feel my toes! All in all, we had a really relaxing Saturday & to top it off, we even took a family picture.
I know Christmas is only TWO days away, but try to take a few deep breaths, relax, and enjoy the moments of Christmas we have left this year.
Happy Tuesday (Christmas Eve Eve)!
