fall break

Happy Monday!  I hope you all are having a wonderful day, besides the fact that it is a Monday!  We had a really nice week!  Matt had fall break last week (which we have never heard of), so we got a lot of things done around the house & spent lots of family time together.  Matt helped me so much by taking Oliver to the park while I cleaned the house...  Doesn't sound like much, but you moms know that a few hours alone can be such a blessing!  Oliver had SO much fun hanging out with daddy & they really bonded.  Extremely sweet seeing Oliver having so much fun with Matt!

So, last week was supposed to be the week that Oliver had his tests, but they switched it to this Thursday.  The bright side is that they said they didn't have to put him under... as long as he cooperates.  Prayers would be so appreciated this Thursday!  Thank you!

Last Thursday, we decided to visit Colonial Williamsburg!  Oliver & I have been here once before with our cousins, but I was excited to have Matt see this place!  He was in awe!  It was like being transported back in time.  Williamsburg has got to be one of the prettiest places I have ever been to!  Matt & I kept talking about how we would totally move here in an instant!  We both love history & watched a couple of movies/documentaries before we went to Williamsburg... Just to get in the historic frame of mind ;)  Here are a few pictures of this beautiful town!  I love to take pictures, so this isn't even half the photos I took, but I thought I would spare you!  Haha...

If you follow my Instagram, you know that I went on a 3 day juicing cleanse with a friend!  I am so bummed to report that I completely & utterly failed.  First, I want you to know that the purpose of this cleanse was NOT to lose weight, but to kick start healthy eating.  I am addicted to sugar/carbs & wanted a way to cleanse my body, so I could start fresh.  I definitely think the reason I failed at this cleanse was because I was not eating really healthy before and this was such a sudden shock to me.  I was completely starving all three days, so I gave in & ate a couple snacks/meals.  Not all snacks were good.  Ritz crackers, to be exact, was the snack I ate the first two days...  By the third day, I just gave up and ate three meals.  I did want to let you all know that these were healthy meals.  Even though I failed at this cleanse, I have started eating healthier & went grocery shopping for whole foods.  Fruits & veggies with no processed foods of any kind!  I am so excited to change up my lifestyle from eating a bunch of processed snacks, to eating whole food snacks.  In the future, I will totally do a small cleanse again, & hopefully finish with flying colors, but for now I want to focus on really trying to eat clean!  Down below are the vegetables & fruit that were in the 3 day cleanse.  If you would like to do this cleanse, click here!  Day 1 was okay tasting, day 2 was really good & day 3 was probably my least favorite!  The one great thing about this cleanse is that you are allowed to eat a small dinner consisting of lean protein & green veggies.

Other than that failure, we really had a great week!  It was really nice to spend time with Matt (much needed), but it is great to get back to our normal routine.  I hope you guys have a wonderful rest of the week & hopefully enjoying this cooler, fall weather!  Yay!!
