4 years ago...on this day

I know this post is so late in the day, but I wanted to remember a really special day!  

Matt and I were friends for a couple of years before he finally asked me out.  Of course, I had secretly liked him most of that time, but I really tried hard not to let that interfere with our relationship as friends.  For me, my ex-boyfriends weren't even really my actual friends before I started dating them.  So when I decided to be single for awhile, I wanted to wait for two things:  ONE, was that I was friends for a long time before I dated that particular guy & TWO, I wanted the next guy to be my future husband.  Crazy, I know!  I knew that the Lord had the right guy for me & I just had to be patient.  I didn't even realize that my future husband had also wanted those same things!  So, four years ago on this day, Matt asked me out to dinner!  I was so thrilled, yet so nervous that I hardly ate any dinner!  At first I was afraid that it would be awkward to start a relationship, but it actually was pretty easy!  A couple of weeks later he told me he loved me.  A couple weeks after that we were engaged.  Four months after that, we were married! Everything after that went by really fast, but we knew this was all part of God's perfect timing for us! I am so glad I waited for who the Lord had for me!
