Spring Refresh

Spring Refresh

What does Spring mean to you? Growing up in Hawaii, we never really had a “Spring” per se, but we always knew that it meant there was a newness in the air. Now that I live on the mainland, I have seen so many gorgeous Springs with cherry blossoms, rainy days & just a rebirth of nature. Spring also means organizing, decluttering & just overall refreshment in my life.

One part of my home that I have been wanting to refresh was my office. I really wish I had taken before photos, because it was ridiculous. It pretty much became our catch all room, filled with my yarn, office supplies, donations, you name it & it was in there! The room just felt cluttered & made me feel uninspired in all creative aspects. I knew I needed a change & that is where Bed Bath & Beyond came in! I was so excited when they wanted to work with me on a Spring room refresh & I knew exactly what I wanted to do.

I wanted to create a room that felt cozy yet organized. I have always loved Bed Bath & Beyond for all their home essentials. From small housewares to gorgeous furniture, they really have it all to complete any room. We even registered at Bed Bath & Beyond for our wedding & received the best home & organization items that we still own today. For my office, I chose the furniture I wanted that had a specific function, look & coziness feel.

The first item I picked out that sort of set the style of the room, was this gorgeous bamboo towel ladder. I knit often & love making blankets & I knew this ladder would be perfect to display those blankets! It is sturdy & unique with the bowed middle section & is the perfect color.

The second item i chose was this six-drawer dresser which I wanted to use to store all my yarn. It is solid pine & really well made! Matt & I put it together, and it feels like it was built to last. It has the mid century modern look to it that I absolutely love & it is a classy piece for my office.

The third, fourth & fifth items were my desk, chair & rug. A lot of the desks I was originally looking at were small, but I wanted a bigger space for crafts & my work. This desk has two drawers & an open middle section which is perfect for storing my laptop & other books. The chair I chose is actually a dining chair, but I felt like it would fit perfectly with the desk. It is really comfy to sit in & gorgeous to look at! The rug reminded me of a knit pattern & I felt like it would work perfectly with my theme! It made the room complete & is soft to the touch.

The final item I chose was this tufted, gray chair. I really wanted a cozy chair to knit & read in, plus it is perfect for Ollie to hang out on while I am at my desk! It has a timeless feel to it & is comfortable to sit in. I actually was debating between this chair & another one, but ended up with this tufted one since I felt like the color & style would go a little better with the room. Since this chair is unavailable, I will link the other one I was considering HERE.

Overall, I am so happy with how it turned out! I found a lot of the other decor from local thrift stores & items I already had at home. We ended up painting the walls a whiter color to brighten the space up since it is a very small room. Now it is one of the airiest rooms! I stuck to neutral colors, with pops of green in plants, just to brighten up & warm the space. I find myself spending so much of my day in this room & it brings me so much joy. So, if you need a Spring refresh, I highly recommend Bed Bath & Beyond as your one-stop shop for fun, stylish & unique home goods!
