Teeth Cleaning Routine

*Sponsored post, but as always, words/thoughts/reviews are all my own*

I am going to start off by saying that I am really excited to be partnering up with Philips Sonicare to review their ProtectiveClean 4100 brush with you.  Matt & I have always wanted an electronic toothbrush, so we were thrilled when they reached out to us.  They even gave Oliver his very own toothbrush with some amazing features, which I will talk about a little later.  Below are a few reasons why we are loving our switch to Sonicare.

So, why switch from a manual toothbrush to a Philips Sonicare electric brush?  Well, for one, the Sonicare removes up to 7x more plaque than a regular toothbrush.  It is crazy to think about all the plaque all that plaque that a regular toothbrush does not remove!  If you think about going to the dentist when you get your teeth cleaned, they always have an electric brush they use, & afterwards, your teeth feel so clean.  That is exactly how my teeth feel after using the Sonicare these past few weeks.  It also has a sonic technology, which results in 124,000 brush strokes every two minutes.  That is around the same amount of brushstrokes you would make in an entire month using a manual!

When we first tried the Sonicare brush, Matt & I were laughing so hard because neither one of us had ever used one before & it was so different than what we were used to.  Our faces while we were brushing were hilarious, I almost wish I took a photo of that!  One cool feature is its easy-start program, which gradually & gently increases in brushing power the first 14 times you use the brush.  I actually love this feature because at first you are almost nervous to use it because it feels a bit foreign to your gums and teeth, but after a few brushes it feels completely normal.

We all know that brushing for 2 minutes is what the dentist recommends, but to be honest, I never pay attention to the time.  With the Sonicare, it has a quadpacer that gives you a little buzz every 30 seconds, notifying you to switch the area you are brushing.  It goes in four, 30-second increments for you to brush the upper right, upper left, lower right & lower left parts of your mouth, making it really easy to know how much time you have before it shuts off.  It even has the timer in the kids toothbrush, which is so important for them to develop a good oral care regime.

Both Matt & I have fillings in our teeth & that was one area I was a little worried about, especially since I can't control the movements of the brush strokes myself.  After reading up on some of their Sonic technology, I found that their brushes creates gentle microbubbles which goes deep between your teeth & along your gum line.  This helps get to all those hard to reach places in your mouth to ensure you are getting great gum health.  It also means that this technology is safe to use with braces, fillings, crowns & veneers & helps prevent cavities!

Speaking of gum health, the ProtectiveClean brush improves your gums 100% vs. a manual toothbrush!  Gum health is so important & our gums need to be properly taken care of.  When I was pregnant with Ollie, I noticed my gums were completely swollen. When I went to my dentist, he said I had signs of gingivitis!  I was honestly horrified, but, between stress & pregnancy, he said it would go away because he thought those were major factors that played into my gums being swollen.  From then on, I started brushing my gums (I seriously never knew you had to) & it definitely improved over a few months.  The Sonicare brush helps get to your gum line & clean it thoroughly. You never have to worry about brushing your gums too hard with the Sonicare because the brush has a built in sensor that will pulse when you push too hard on either your gums or your teeth!

Lastly, I wanted to talk a little bit about Philips Sonicare kids toothbrush.  A few things about this toothbrush is that it is for children 3+, it comes with 1 rechargeable handle, 8 handle stickers, 2 bonus sheets of stickers, a brush head, & a charger base.  When Oliver saw the package, he immediately wanted to open it & put a sticker on the toothbrush.  Some features with this brush are that it has a kid timer which gradually increases to two minutes, high & low power modes, easy to grip handle for smaller hands, & the best feature is that you can download the Sonicare Kids app.  This app has a brushing coach to easily motivate your kids to brush more!  Oliver loves brushing his teeth with the app!

Overall, the last few weeks of using the toothbrush have been great!  My teeth feel a lot smoother & I feel a lot more confident to go to the dentist.  To find out more about Philip Sonicare, be sure to check them out here:
