Hello!

Welcome to my blog where I  document our adventures, parenting, lifestyle and food. Hope you enjoy!

juicing

Buying our juicer has been one of the greatest health investments that we have made so far.  We bought the Breville RM BJE510XL, and we both really like it!  There is no way that I could possibly consume all those fruit & veggies in 1 day.  I also love how many nutrients & vitamins we are getting!  Juicing gets to be expensive if you do it every day, so we try & juice a couple times a week.  Most of the time I just make fruit smoothies with some spinach & coconut milk yogurt.  When we first bought the juicer, Matt went on Joe Cross 3 day weekend juice cleanse.  It was intense for a first timer who is not used to drinking every meal.  But in the end, Matt really enjoyed it & he said he felt great!  It has been so fun trying to invent new drinks!  Since I am still sick, we thought we should make a drink that has lots of vitamins to help build my immune system back up.

Booster

5-6 carrots
2 leaves of kale
1 orange
1 lemon
1" ginger
1 stalk of celery
2 apples

This juice makes about 25-30oz & tastes good.  Although, Matt said he could really taste the lemon & ginger (my nose is still plugged so it was hard for me to tell).  If you aren't a huge fan of lemon or ginger, you could always halve those ingredients.  One juice from Joe Cross 3 day juice cleanse which is also very tasty is the Mean Green Juice.

Mean Green Juice

1 cucumber
4 celery stalks
2 apples
6-8 leaves kale
1/2 lemon
1" ginger

Another go-to drink that is one of our favorites because it tastes really sweet is the Sweetie Pie.

Sweetie Pie

2 apples
5-7 carrots
1" ginger
(sometimes I like to add kale or spinach to add a little green)

Happy juicing!
